Who: Civil War buffs

In addition to the history provided by the park, groups will present a variety of notable person and functional impressions on the grounds surrounding Ellwood Manor. It is the site of 5th Corps HQ and only a short walk away from where Lt Gen Grant and Maj Gen Meade set up their respective HQs. Some notables this year includes President Abraham Lincoln, Secretary of War Edwin Stanton with Lt Gen Grant to present their recreation of John Rogers Statue, The Council of War. Also attending are Maj Gens Meade, Sheridan, Custer and other staff.

A special addition this year is retired Army Major Kevin Knapp's portrayal of Thaddeus Lowe of the Civil War Balloon Corps, and yes, he will have the balloon!

Note: For safety, instead of helium gas and an open flame, Kevin uses generators and air to fill the balloon.
